ABOUT ST ALBAN'S COOPERSALE
The Parish Church of St Alban the Martyr is in the pretty village of Coopersale, to the east of Epping. The church is small but the congregation is vibrant and welcoming. The traditional grassed churchyard overlooks fields and countryside.
The church was built in 1852 at the bequest of Miss Archer-Houblon, who also provided the parish with a school and the substantial vicarage, now privately owned. The church maintains its strong links with the church primary school, hosting the school carol service, other services throughout the year and being linked further by the church school governors.
The original school, the current Parish Rooms, is used as a church meeting room and is available to hire. There are toilets and kitchen facilities in the Parish Rooms which are found across the road from the church.
St Alban's Church is part of the Epping District Team Ministry and is included in many team events and services.
St Alban's Church, Coopersale only holds the most recent registers of baptisms, marriages and burials. All others are held at the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford.
